Tiny, Paralyzed Kitten Gets a Second Chance at Life Thanks to Kind Engineering Students’ Invention

Unfortunately, for a lot of kitties out there, life just isn’t fair — even from birth. While all cats deserve loving, safe homes and families, that’s not always what happens, and other cats end up facing injuries that can be life changing.

Fortunately, there are still plenty of good humans in the world who are willing to help animals in need, including this tiny kitten whose entire life changed after a group of engineering students decided to use their skills to give him a second chance.

In this video shared by @snorth00 on TikTok on Friday, November 21, we meet a kitten who was hit by a car and left paralyzed… until he was given a device that would change everything.

“Someone brought in a kitten to our vet class that had been hit by a car and paralyzed,” the OP explained in the video. “Our engineering students built him a wheelchair.”

It seems like he really loves it — and like he took to his new wheelchair immediately. Look how fast he can go already!

Wheelchairs for Cats

Cats like this sweet kitten can experience mobility issues for all kinds of reasons, and in certain cases, wheelchairs (also known as carts) can be such a game changing device for kitties who are struggling to get around.

As Best Friends Animal Sanctuary points out, some cats who have lost limbs or who have suffered an injury that affects one of their legs can manage to balance on their own, but for others, a wheelchair will be necessary.

However, it is a bit of a process to find the right one for your cat; they need to be custom fitted for them — not just their body size, but also for their needs and where and how they’ll be using their cart the most often.

The good news: If a wheelchair is necessary for your cat, it typically only takes them a few days to get adjusted to it since they get very excited about having the opportunity to be mobile again and have their independence back!

This kitten seems to be rocking that chair already. He’s so lucky he met these students who knew exactly the right way to help him.
