Peanut butter and dogs just go together like peas and carrots. Honestly, there isn’t a pup on the planet who would turn down the opportunity to get their paws on that delicious, nutty spread. My two pups absolutely lose it whenever I take out the bread because they know some tasty pieces of sandwich crust are coming their way.
One mom decided to elevate her dog’s love of peanut butter to a whole new level. She recently shared a TikTok video with the caption, “Normalize letting your dog have the end of the PB jar,” and after seeing her pup’s reaction, I can confidently say—I’d let mine have one, too!
As she holds out the jar with the last few licks inside, she says, “Take it!” and her wide-eyed pup doesn’t need any further instructions! She opens her mouth, latches onto the rim of the jar, and takes off toward the living room before Mom has a chance to change her mind!
Summit, a Bernese Mountain and Golden Retriever mix, runs right to her bed and dives right into that jar of peanut butter like it could be her last meal on Earth. With her tongue stretched out deep inside and the bottom half of her face wedged in the container, she’s clearly committed to getting every last drop of sticky goodness.

Fans of @helloimsummit were loving it in the comments. @beachlover5 wrote, “It’s equivalent to licking the cake bowl for us humans!” Meanwhile, @marissa.j65 added to the fun saying, “My PB jar, cottage cheese jar, Greek yogurt jar—my pups make sure no crumbs are missed! LOL!”
In the comments, Mom explained that she does this as a form of enrichment for her high-energy pup. At the end of the video, you can see Summit’s energy fading fast—the peanut butter mission is complete—and she’s ready to settle into a well-deserved food coma after her tasty snack adventure.
