Golden retrievers are some of the funniest dogs. They are so goofy, loving, and hilarious. A recent short TikTok of a golden retriever from TikTok user @goldenretrieverblu_ had us cracking up. The 15-second video has the caption, “We can see you, Benny.” It shows Benny, the golden retriever, walking very slowly and gingerly across a carpeted room in a house. The caption reads, “My youngest dog thinking he’s invisible when he stalks his brother.”

As Benny gets closer to his brother, the camera pans over so you can see Benny’s brother, another golden retriever, staring at Benny. Benny continues his slow, stealthy approach, occasionally looking away from his brother, continually doing that hilarious eyebrow thing golden retrievers do, where they move their eyebrows all over the place. Benny totally thinks he’s going undetected. He gets almost nose-to-nose with his brother as the video ends.

“Anybody else just giggle at the shifting eyebrows of dogs?” TikTok user @Bio commented. Um, yes, we definitely do. ‘I love how goldens always twitch their eyebrows, it says a lot about their current feelings,” TikTok user @candyzbeluv commented.

Golden retrievers are, of course, some of the most popular pets in the United States, especially for families. And that’s for good reason. They’re incredibly friendly dogs who really get along with basically all other living creatures. They’re definitely good with children and other pets. They are also intelligent (even if one thinks they can become invisible) and loyal, especially toward their loved ones and family members.

Golden retrievers are also highly adaptable and can handle change and different environments well. They are easy to train as they love both treats and people. So they’ll respond very well to training with treats, human praise and affection. They are playful, energetic, and, as their name suggests, are good at retrieving. (My family had a golden retriever that grabbed the morning paper and brought it back to my father every single day for 10 years.)

The breed is also generally low-maintenance. Their coat does a good job of staying glossy and clean. They typically have minimal health issues. And they’re very durable dogs that usually live longer than 10 years. They’re excellent dogs for beginning dog owners because of their friendly disposition and ease in training.
