Dogs are pack animals by nature and often make friends with fellow furry canines they meet in their neighborhood or at dog parks. Some pet parents schedule playdates for their canine cuties so they have double the fun while getting some essential exercise.
Maverick the Golden Retriever got an extra special treat when his fur baby bestie came to stay overnight for the very first time.
In the TikTok from @mav_and_millie, the onscreen text explained that this was “Mavy’s first friend sleepover”. Maverick and his Golden Retriever bestie were just chilling on the rug enjoying each other’s company. You know how it is with best friends — you communicate without even speaking at times. Maverick was so relaxed he almost dozed off.
The two pooch pals then gazed out the glass door to view some nature. Again, conversation was minimal, most likely since they were mesmerized by squirrels and birds scurrying around outside.
Then it was back to some simple zen time, where Maverick took a quick power nap while his bestie continued looking into the great outdoors. Maverick wasn’t being rude — he just needed to recharge his social battery.
Then the pair of pups just hung out, lounging against the wall. The two Goldens are so in sync they most likely speak telepathically. Maverick clearly felt at ease with his fur baby buddy, and the two seemed to share a similar calm temperament.
No information was given regarding their plans for the evening — maybe the furry friends would play with some plushies and watch a movie before turning in for the night. They were sure to have fun just being together.

-
Pick a location where both dogs feel comfortable, whether it’s a fenced in yard at the parent’s home or a local park.
-
Bring plushies, toys and/or tennis balls to initiate playtime and make activity extra fun.
-
Supervise to make sure both dogs aren’t getting overexcited or aggressive, especially if they’re new friends.
Just like with Maverick, sleepovers may soon be an option as well.
