Pearl the Golden Retriever not only got to enjoy a snow day recently but also met her very first snowman. Mom and Dad built him and dressed him up in Dad’s hat and scarf, complete with eyes, buttons down his coat, stick arms, and a carrot nose, and Pearl seemed to recognize him as a man.
Watch as she proudly shows her new friend her snow zoomies before moving in for a closer look. She can smell her dad but can’t quite figure out where he is, and soon starts digging in (literally!) for a better inspection. Is she looking for her dad, or is there something else that she’s after?
We laughed when we realized that Pearl was after the carrot! Pearl’s mom explained in the caption that this video is a throwback from last winter, when much of the south (including here in Atlanta!) got several inches of snow that we don’t usually get.
“Do you think my dog loved her snowman friend? This is a throwback from last year. We haven’t gotten any snow in middle Tennessee this year, but I hope we do soon.”

Commenters’ Funny Reactions to Pearl and Her Snowman Friend
Like us, many viewers didn’t see Pearl stealing the snowman’s nose coming. @sharonandteddytakethecity shared, “I was waiting for her to steal the carrot!” while @feistylittlefairy said, “I did not see that ending coming, poor dude! LOL!”
“LOL! You took dat dude out!” said @the_dude_olly. Another commenter joked, “Bye Frosty!”
Another pet influencer shared, “I love this video! I’m convinced Weller and Pearl would be besties. He went straight for the snowman’s nose too LOL!” @sandyworkman added, “Pearl’s POV: mission accomplished!”
Nobody disagreed when @helperharvey said, “We all need to build our pups a snowman!” @whiskeythegoldenn_ agreed, “New best friend alert!”
I’m not a fan of the snow, but my kids are crossing their fingers, hoping we get some this winter. I’ll admit, after watching Pearl play in the snow, I’m kind of hoping we get some too, just so we can watch our pup enjoy it!
