Little Dachshund Attempts to ‘Boss Cow Around’ Like the Total Queen She Is

I’ve heard that small dogs believe they are larger than they actually are, and I see this trait in my Dachshund and Pug mix. When they see another canine on a walk or when they’re looking out the window, they go into full bark mode regardless of how big the other dog is. They could be staring into the face of a Rottweiler or Great Dane and still make a mini lunge for the much bigger breed as if they own the road.

Sadie the Dachshund seems to have this same skewed self-image. The precious pooch saw an entire field of cows yet started bossing them around from her car seat.

In the TikTok from @sadie.thedoxi, the fierce fur baby sat in the front seat of the car staring out the open window. A huge field of cows were directly in front of her just enjoying a good graze.

Sadie launched into a soliloquy of barks like she owned the farm. The daring Doxie seemed to have no conception of the size differential between herself and the bovines and was perfectly comfortable expressing her perceived authority.

“Only a Dachshund would try and boss a cow around,” the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, “There is never fear or doubt when it comes to a Dachshund.”

Only one cow glanced her way for a millisecond and then went back to munching on grass. No one in the herd seemed the least bit intimidated by Sadie’s vocal outburst, yet the fur baby still felt she had something to say.

Dachshunds Have ‘Big Dog’ Attitudes

Though Doxies are adorably small with those trademark wiener dog bodies, they tend to have big egos. It’s almost like they’re large dogs trapped inside a small dog’s body.

This hunting breed can be territorial, which manifests as being a bit bossy. Dachshunds are protective of their people, food, toys and other items they consider part of their domain. This comes from their German heritage of being bred to hunt and track small game. Doxies have a sense of confidence as working dogs and it spreads into other areas of their personality.

These tiny but mighty dogs are also very loyal, loving and affectionate. You may have to put up with their big attitude at times, but their adorable demeanor and devotion are well worth it.
