Sometimes we wake up after a full night’s sleep feeling just as tired, or even more exhausted, than when we went to bed. Gary, the English Bulldog, knows that feeling all too well and is immediately ready to crawl back into bed for a nap the moment he wakes up.
Watch as Gary struggles to keep his eyes open while his mom calls him out in front of everyone for “going wee” in his bed. But Gary is far too tired to care and blatantly ignores her, making it clear that it’s not a big deal to him at all. His only real concern? Figuring out where he’s going to take his next nap!
We cracked up when Gary’s mom asked him if he slept well, then called him out again for snoring all night! He was very annoyed with his mom the second he woke up, and she’s not helping make it any better by continuing to share his dirty secrets!

Why Do English Bulldogs Sleep So Much?
My brother has had a couple of English Bulldogs, and one of their favorite things to do is sleep. They sleep an average of about 16 hours a day… or more!
I Heart Dogs explains one reason Bulldogs may sleep more than other dogs do. “Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, meaning they have short noses and flat faces, which can make breathing more difficult, particularly during physical exertion. This characteristic often results in Bulldogs tiring more quickly than other dogs, which can lead to longer sleep periods.”
Another reason Gary may be so tired is sleep apnea (which also explains the snoring). “One common issue is sleep apnea, where a dog’s breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, leading to poor sleep quality and potential health problems. Due to their brachycephalic structure, Bulldogs are more prone to sleep apnea.”
Or maybe Gary just enjoys napping, and we don’t blame him!
