My dogs crave company. They love to snuggle and rarely need their space. Sometimes my senior Dachshund will head to the bedroom for her 4-hour afternoon nap, but outside of that, she’s always by my side. Her Pug brother is like my shadow and follows me everywhere — he basically doesn’t let me out of his sight.
Scout the Golden Retriever clearly likes to be close to loved ones as well and developed a technique where they literally can’t escape his clutches.
In the TikTok from @scoutheckman, the gorgeous Golden stared into the camera looking totally adorable, yet the onscreen text alluded to some sort of danger.
“Do you bite?” the text asked. “No. Worse.”
The next scene featured Scout with his tail in his mouth, wrapped around a person who had no way out. The clever canine turned in circles, with his “prisoner” having to spin along with him.
“I trap my victims in a dizzying prison until they collapse,” the onscreen text revealed, with the caption adding, “The donut prison. Beware!”
How Scout mastered this impressive technique remains unknown, but the pooch obviously had plenty of practice to perfect the skill. The person trapped in Scout’s jail-like circle seemed to be a willing participant in the canine captor’s antics, where the temporary confinement was all in good fun.
Scout Earned Plenty of Praise
Followers were amazed at the Golden Retriever’s containment strategy and gave him props for his tactics.
“Never in my life have I ever seen a dog do this,” one raved.
“Now THAT’s an original experience,” another remarked.

“I need to know how he figured this out and the reason for it,” a follower asked.
“Caught his tail and immediately started thinking of ways to weaponize it,” someone noted.
“Biting his own tail to trap you is PURELY for the love of the game,” a fan pointed out.
Being trapped by the canine cutie definitely doesn’t seem like any sort of punishment, and I wouldn’t be surprised if people line up asking for a turn.
