Orange Cats have gotten a reputation for being adorable little troublemakers, and while that reputation doesn’t always hold up, in this case, it totally does—along with a dash of sibling rivalry, of course.
The Orange Cat in the video below will go out of her way to annoy her Black Cat brother, and it’s a perfect illustration of just how funny sibling relationships between cats can be (and how they really do mirror human sibling relationships sometimes).
This video from @veronicaandhercats on TikTok shows both kitties lounging side by side… with the Orange Cat’s paw extended all the way out so she can be touching her brother, which he specifically hates.
“When your brother hates to be touched but your one purpose in life is to annoy him,” their mom wrote in the video.
It looks like she is truly filling her purpose… because that brother does look annoyed!

Are Orange Cats Truly More Mischievous?
There has long been a stereotype that Orange Cats are a bit more chaotic than kitties of other colors, but is that really the truth?
According to National Geographic, a study published in the Journal of Veterinary Behavior discovered that some of the differences in Orange Cats can be attributed to their coat color. However, what the study found wasn’t that Orange Cats are more outgoing; it was actually that they can be more fearful.
“It’s interesting that you mention Orange Cats being more outgoing, more gregarious, because actually, we found the opposite,” Carlo Siracusa, the author of the study, said. “They were more likely to show fear-related aggression toward unfamiliar people.”
While there definitely seems to be a little something different about Orange Cats, it’s important to remember that all cats are different and they each have their own personalities. Your Orange Cat might be a bit wild, but there are plenty of chill Orange Cats out there, too.
