My fur babies — a Dachshund and a Pug mix — are about the same size. Even though my Puggie outweighs my Doxie by a considerable amount, her attitude compensates for whatever she lacks in pounds. She has the trademark Dachshund confidence and doesn’t get intimidated, even when she’s around dogs five times bigger than she is.
This Mini Dachshund seems to have the same hutzpah and was literally oblivious walking around her mammoth-sized Great Dane brother.
In the TikTok from @cotswolds_family_rein, the canine siblings stood in the living room just hanging out. The Great Dane stood as still as a statue as his tiny Doxie sister walked around him, sniffing at his paws. The Mini Dachshund seemed like she was inspecting a foreign object rather than her fur baby brother.
“She did not realize he was a dog,” the onscreen text explained, with the caption adding, “He probably did not realize either.”
Maybe they were both unaware of each other due to their dramatic size difference. The Great Dane towered over his little sister, where she wasn’t even in his line of sight. The tiny Doxie would have had to crane her neck all the way backwards to get a glimpse of her supersized sibling.
Followers got a kick out of the comical comparison and guessed at what both were thinking.
“She: ‘It’s a black giraffe!’ – He: ‘Look, a black mouse!'” one joked.
“Did she think he was furniture? Or a building?” another asked.
“In the little Dachshund’s head and heart, she IS as big as the Dane,” a follower pointed out.
“I can just hear the big doggy saying, what on earth is this?” someone remarked.
These Fur Babies Have a Close Bond
Despite their impressive difference in stature, this tiny Doxie and her very big brother are actually besties. Several posts on the social media account show them playing, snuggling, and just enjoying each other’s company.

The Great Dane clearly takes his big brother role seriously and watches over his little sis. He even lets her “beat him up” at times when they roughhouse. The Doxie looks up to her big brother (literally) and often copies his actions like a typical younger sibling.
They may be an unlikely pair, but they’re obviously BFFs for life.
