Super-Fluffy Scottish Fold Kitten Channels His Inner Wildcat, Practicing New Skills

Kittens may look soft and too fluffy and not even close to intimidating, but when playtime comes around, they flip a switch somewhere deep inside, like it’s written in their DNA. They start to look the part. Each movement comes easily to them as they practice catching a mouse or holding something tightly enough that it can’t run away.

In this clip, we meet a very adorable, soft, and fluffy Scottish Fold kitten who turns playtime into his very own wildcat practice session, and he’s developing some pretty serious (and adorable) skills.

On February 23, @miaheary shared a TikTok video of one of their Scottish Fold cats, Bear, an 8-week-old, super-fluffy gray kitten who is practicing his wildcat skills and taking out his energy on a small pink mouse toy.

Watching kittens play might be one of the cutest things because they give out “big tough guy” energy like they have no concept of how small they are, and Bear is doing exactly that. The way he tosses and hops on the mouse, and grabs it with his paws while pretending it’s real and trying to get away, is so charming.

In a second video, Bear is still honing his hunting skills, this time playing with a wire ball toy that has feathers and a toy mouse inside. He’s swatting it across the floor with his tiny but too-big-for-his-body paws.

Scottish Fold Cats Have Sweet Temperaments

Bear is just the sweetest, most beautiful kitten, which we learn pretty quickly watching this clip of him playing. And those personality traits are pretty common for the Scottish Fold, according to the experts.

The International Cat Association explains that the Scottish Fold cat is known for being “intelligent, inquisitive, and loyal to their family,” and loves to hang out with their people. These kitties have a known preference for spending time with their humans, cat siblings, or friendly dog siblings rather than being on their own.

Scottish Folds aren’t super energetic, but regular exercise is important for their overall health. And if they play the same way Bear does, they’ll be hilarious to watch, too.
