It\u2019s been a couple of weeks since the time change, but some pets are still struggling to adjust to the \u201cnew\u201d schedule, even though it\u2019s really just the humans who changed the clock! Waffles, a very particular orange cat, is one of those pets who likes things just so, especially when it comes to his bedtime routine.<\/p>\n
In this clip, Waffles can\u2019t quite figure out why his humans aren\u2019t heading to bed at the usual time, and he\u2019s got the sweetest (and slightly aggressive) way of reminding them that it\u2019s time to hit the hay. Make sure your sound is on for this one because he’s very vocal about his bedtime!<\/p>\n
Waffles’ mom shared, “Waffles was not built for Daylight Saving Time. We still haven\u2019t gotten him adjusted to the new 10 p.m. yet!” We get it, Waffles! We’re still trying to adjust to the darkness coming so early in the evening, too!<\/p>\n

Most researchers who study dogs don\u2019t believe they grasp the concept, but they do perceive the passage of time and will definitely let you know when it\u2019s time for them to eat.” Or in Waffles’ case, when it’s bedtime!<\/p>\n Dr. Jerry Klein, Chief Veterinarian for the AKC<\/em>, shared, \u201cDogs respond to daylight, and they wake when the sun rises and sleep when it\u2019s dark. Do they count down the hours to make sure they get eight hours of\u00a0sleep? Of course not. But their physical and behavioral processes are in sync with the sun.\u201d<\/p>\n Because dogs are creatures of habit and most don’t like changes to their routine, the AKC<\/em> says that you can see some behaviors in your pup because of the time change, like anxiousness, a nervous tummy, or having accidents in the house.
