The Hawaiian Humane Society is urging families to prepare early to keep their animals calm and safe.<\/p>\n

Keep candy away from pets<\/strong><\/p>\n Store candy and human treats where pets cannot reach them. Prepare for fireworks and visitors<\/strong><\/p>\n Along with trick-or-treaters and noisy doorbells, illegal fireworks may appear throughout the evening. These sounds and surprises can stress even the most social pets.<\/p>\n To help them feel secure:<\/p>\n Create a quiet space with closed windows and curtains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Play calming music or white noise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Keep pets indoors before sunset.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Exercise pets earlier in the day to ease anxiety later.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Try ThunderShirts for dogs and cats, or pheromone sprays like ThunderEase and Feliway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n 3.
