Sometimes you really don’t know what is going to walk through the door at a veterinary clinic, and apparently that includes a Cane Toad<\/strong> wearing a harness.<\/p>\n In this adorable clip, a female Cane Toad is calmly perched on an exam table wearing a bright red harness attached to a bungee leash. She sits there with her little front legs tucked neatly in front of her, as if she has an appointment to keep and places to be. With her stocky build and serious expression, she honestly does resemble a tiny green Bulldog<\/a><\/strong> waiting patiently for her name to be called. She looks calm<\/a>, sturdy, and completely unfazed by the attention. Harness and all.<\/p>\n Cane Toads are large, hardy amphibians<\/a>, and they require very specific care.<\/a> They need controlled temperatures, proper humidity, safe enclosures, and insect diets and other approved foods.<\/p>\n They are not cuddly pets and should be handled carefully, as their skin glands can secrete toxins<\/a>. Toad parents must always wash their hands after handling and ensure other pets don’t interact with them.<\/p>\n While they may not be traditional pets, Cane Toads can thrive with knowledgeable, responsible care.
