{"id":5062,"date":"2026-02-13T09:19:39","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T09:19:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pe-ts.fun\/?p=5062"},"modified":"2026-02-13T09:19:39","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T09:19:39","slug":"free-pet-vaccines-return-next-week-for-chula-vista-lemon-grove-and-national-city-residents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pe-ts.fun\/?p=5062","title":{"rendered":"Free pet vaccines return next week for Chula Vista, Lemon Grove and National City residents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-article-body=\"true\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Chula Vista is hosting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chulavistaca.gov\/Home\/Components\/News\/News\/4013\/3175\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:two free vaccine clinics;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">two free vaccine clinics<\/a> this month for cats and dogs owned by residents of Chula Vista, Lemon Grove and National City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The first clinic was Wednesday, February 11, and the second free clinic is on Wednesday, February 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/GPpDhXXuKmQyeeeh6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Chula Vista Animal Services on 130 Beyer Way.;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Chula Vista Animal Services on 130 Beyer Way.<\/a> It closes for lunch from noon to 1 p.m., and the event is first come, first served, while supplies last, so organizers urge pet owners to arrive early and be prepared to wait in line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dozens of pet owners braved the rain and lined up early outside the Chula Vista Animal Services Facility Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cHonestly I feel like it was more convenient, and she does need a little bit more social interaction so her being able to be surrounded by all these other beautiful dogs was really just a great opportunity for her to also just work on her patience and all that, I think it\u2019s something everyone should do,\u201d said Sophia Gil, who brought her dog Raven to the clinic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Chula Vista clinic is offering rabies, DAPP and FVRCP vaccines, basic preventive shots that Director of Animal Services Ashley Milo said can save a pet\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cYour distemper and Parvo are your most two common viruses that you&#8217;re going to see in dogs. Both are deadly, and they have no immunity after they&#8217;ve weaned off of mom, within the first couple months, that immunity is gone. And if you don&#8217;t continue to vaccinate them throughout the years, obviously they can come into exposure with it outside,\u201d Milo said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She said staff typically gives out around 75 to 100 vaccinations at each clinic, and demand keeps rising as veterinary costs climb.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe have learned over the years that the community needs more help and more help every year, and that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re here to do.
