But for one British bunny born without ears<\/a>, some creative craftwork on the part of his caretakers finally gave the little guy his signature rabbit ears \u2013 and the bunny\u2019s name is only more adorable than his crocheted ears.<\/p>\n In a video shared on social media, a four-month-old gray baby bunny<\/a> named Van Gogh<\/strong> can be seen missing one important appendage \u2013 his ears. According to the video, Van Gogh was the only bunny in his litter born earless. While his caretakers aren\u2019t sure why the little guy doesn\u2019t have ears, they\u2019re pleased to report that Van Gogh\u2019s hearing isn\u2019t affected by his missing ears. \u201cIt\u2019s purely aesthetic,\u201d the charming video states.<\/p>\n After seeing the earless bunny scoot around, one of the farmers where Van Gogh lives took it upon himself to crochet little bunny ears for him. Fortunately for the rabbit, the farmer runs a side business crocheting hair scrunchies and put his skills to good use to create some adorable rabbit ears.<\/p>\n The video notes that Van Gogh only wears his crocheted ears when he is supervised by one of the farmers, and only for a short time. And since Van Gogh can still hear the same as his brothers and sisters, the crocheted bunny ears serve as an adorable accessory, not a necessity for hearing.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re scratching your head wondering how Van Gogh (the bunny, not the artist) can hear without ears, a rabbit\u2019s big outer ears are used mainly for collecting and channeling sound. The inner ear is where hearing happens. Being born earless is a genetic fault that doesn\u2019t affect hearing.
