Animal sounds are some of the first things parents teach their babies, but only some animals make the list. Why doesn’t anyone ask their little one ‘What sound does the camel make?’ It’s probably because not many people actually know what camels sound like!<\/p>\n
A North Carolina mom named @basic_brittani was one of those people, at least until she visited The Pint Sized Pasture in Sanford. This farm and petting zoo is home to a talkative, friendly camel who was happy to meet new friends, but no one was expecting this<\/em> sound to come out of its mouth! Brittani’s March 31 video left nearly 4 million people smiling from ear to ear.<\/p>\n Was that what you were expecting to hear? I was stunned silent the first time I watched Brittani’s video, but I’ll also be the first to admit I’ve watched it again and again. I can’t get enough of that priceless sound!<\/p>\n Somehow, the way Brittani snatched her hand back in shock made the sudden, strange sound even funnier. It’s comforting to know most people would react the same way! What do they regularly sound like, then? One camel went viral for saying ‘hey’ as clear as day, but it’s still unclear what a ‘normal’ camel sound entails.<\/p>\n This petting zoo camel’s sound reminded commenters of an iconic cartoon starfish who makes his fair share of strange noises. It’s Patrick Star, of course! If SpongeBob SquarePants<\/em> fans close their eyes while listening to this video, they can practically see Patrick standing at the helm of the Flying Dutchman’s ship.<\/p>\n Many people have seen camels in zoos or animal sanctuaries, but they can be wonderful as farm animals too. Not only can they help carry heavy loads and even provide transportation, but they can also provide milk and wool! Camels are common farm animals in their native range, but they can also thrive in cooler, more humid climates.<\/p>\n Camels may go long periods of time without drinking water, but once they do drink, they need up to 40 gallons<\/a> at once! They eat a diverse range of plants while grazing in the wild, so they’ll be happy to graze and eat alongside other farm animal friends.
