Some dogs might guard their snacks with their lives, but Django Smiles does not. In an adorable Instagram video from @djangosmiles, the sweet-faced dog sits through what his mom describes in the caption as \u201cbestie brunch,\u201d calmly watching as a tiny squirrel helps himself to the dog\u2019s peanuts. Django\u2019s owner tries to hand out peanuts one at a time, starting with Django, but what follows is sweet chaos.<\/p>\n
In the video, Django\u2019s owner feeds the dog peanuts<\/a> as the little squirrel hovers near the pile. She says, \u201cWell, okay, this one is for you, I guess. And then this one\u2014\u201dbefore the squirrel cuts her off by darting in with zero manners and a lot of confidence.<\/p>\n They are equally amused and surprised. She goes, \u201cOh, stop. Did you want one?\u201d while holding out a peanut \u2014 but the squirrel ignores the polite offer and grabs a peanut on its own. The dog mom praises him with, \u201cOkay, yeah, you take one. Good job. Good boy,\u201d laughing at the scene.<\/p>\n Then she turns her attention back to Django, who stays in place and watches closely, telling him, \u201cDjango, he\u2019s taking your peanuts,\u201d and that is when Django finally responds with a dramatic round of heavy huffing. The owner asks, \u201cOh my goodness. What are you gonna do?\u201d as the squirrel runs off again.<\/p>\n Of course, the squirrel returns for more. Hence, the owner checks in once again, asking the dog, \u201cAre you guys sharing a little snack?\u201d and laughs as Django answers with more huffing. By the end, mom pronounces the dog and the squirrel \u201cbest friends,\u201d probably because of their shared love for peanuts in this video.<\/p>\n Viewers loved the dog\u2019s calm reaction.
