We checked her gums \u2014 her gums were white.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Australian cattle mix was rushed to the vet, where Jenifer insisted she get a<a after the German Shepherd Husky mix accidentally ate meth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cHis heart rate was really elevated and he was panting a lot and couldn\u2019t settle down,\u201d she <a data-yga=\"{\" ylinkelement=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/dog-ingests-meth-while-walking-in-north-hollywood-neighborhood\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:told;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">told<\/a> KTLA last November. \u201cHe had a 103-degree fever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Uni\u2019s drug test came back positive for methamphetamine and the vet staff helped bring her high temperature down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThey said her temperature was 106 degrees, which, anything at 106 and above could cause brain damage, organ failure,\u201d Jenifer said. \u201cThey were working for about 45 break-words\">\u201cIf even one person is just a little bit more mindful and it saves their dog from being in this critical condition, this interview was more than enough,\u201d Nikolas said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">ASPCA Poison Control staff helped more than 334,000 animals with exposures to toxic substances, plants and poisons last year, according to a March <a data-yga=\"{\" ylinkelement=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspca.org\/about-us\/press-releases\/majority-americas-pet-owners-unprepared-costly-medical-emergencies-new-aspca#:~:text=In%202025%2C%20ASPCA%20Poison%20Control,the%20exposures%20were%20not%20severe.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:press release;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Over-the-counter medications remained the top animal toxin on the ASPCA Poison Control\u2019s list in 2025.
