Cats love baby stuff. Babies, not so much, but they have similar interests: sitting. Babies can’t really do much else, and cats just like to be cozy. Luckily, a lot of baby stuff is very, very cozy, because they spend a lot of time there. Those weeks before a baby comes, when the nursery is made up and there are toys around, are heaven for a kitty!<\/p>\n
One cat has officially claimed his favorite toy: his new baby sibling’s bouncer. He loves to sit in it, and he can even bounce a little. It’s just too cute:<\/p>\n
Annie and Mushroom<\/a> have so much fun together! I just know he’s going to be a great big brother. As soon as the baby wants to play in their bouncer, though, things are about to get a little hairy. That’s his throne, and there’s nothing anyone can do about that!<\/p>\n Mushroom also has a cat sibling, Fern, and the two of them together have taken it upon themselves to test out all the baby equipment. They were the babies first! Plus, they’re pretty much baby-sized, so there’s not even any weird squeezing. They haven’t really thrown tantrums, either. Luckily, the baby is young enough that she still wants to spend more time in Mama’s arms than anything. And to be fair, she is good for snuggling:<\/p>\n What a couple of cuties! I just know Annie is so happy to have them all.<\/p>\n Though you might have a little bit of a longer road ahead of you, cats can get along with babies just as well as dogs can. Cats tend to be a little more skittish, just in general, so it takes a little more patience than with most dogs.<\/p>\n If you want your cat to love your baby, you should try:<\/p>\n Introducing them for the first time while the baby is asleep.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Leaving the baby’s things around so the cat can get used to their smell.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Making sure cats have a baby\/toddler\/child-free getaway spot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n Once the cat understands that the baby isn’t a threat, they’ll begin to warm up… at least to the point of tolerating them.
