It all started with a text from a concerned neighbor, and the rest is kismet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The neighbor&#8217;s text explained that Ariel, a 17-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/paradepets.com\/pet-news\/siamese-cat-clearly-says-shes-batman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Siamese cat;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Siamese cat<\/a> the man and his late wife rescued together, must&#8217;ve gotten out through an open door and the senior gentleman (aka the cat&#8217;s dad) was &#8220;very upset.&#8221; His late wife was the &#8220;Cat Lady&#8221; of Dartmouth, and Ariel is &#8220;one of the last pieces of his wife.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It&#8217;s even more heartbreaking knowing that earlier in the day, the man held Julie&#8217;s hands with tears in his eyes, fearing &#8220;he&#8217;d lost her forever.&#8221; Julie and her husband set aside their anniversary plans because they knew this was one <a href=\"https:\/\/paradepets.com\/pet-news\/woman-rescues-stray-cat-plus-six-babies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:rescue mission;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">rescue mission<\/a> that <em>had<\/em> to have a happy ending.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;This <a href=\"https:\/\/paradepets.com\/pet-news\/rescue-cat-asks-mom-for-cuddles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:cat rescue;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">cat rescue<\/a> story broke me\u2014and it was my husband and I who saved her,&#8221; the caption reads, in part. &#8220;I couldn\u2019t let that be how his story ended.
