This is truly amazing. I can’t believe my eyes! You never think animals are as intuitive as they prove themselves to be. Again and again, they show us that they know more about what’s going on than we think. Just take the way that an elephant knew one woman was pregnant. The giant animal could totally tell what was going on and now the footage of these two connecting over her pregnancy is just so special.

This was just one mama connecting with another! It was like the animal really knew what the woman was going through.

Rhia, who travels for a living, was visiting Thailand when she decided to pay a visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary. That’s where she met Po!

“We saw Po getting into the water and had the pleasure of getting in with her when this beautiful, authentic moment was captured – no forced contact just a genuine connection between two mothers,” the mom-to-be explained.

She claimed that elephants know when women are pregnant by their “incredible sense of smell.” While it’s not clear if that’s really how the elephant knew the woman was pregnant, it’s very clear that the moment meant something special to Rhia.

“Seeing her react so intentionally and gently to our baby was beautiful, especially when you consider that elephants weigh several tons,” she added.

It’s really so beautiful. The comments section was so emotional over the meeting too.

“Do you know that elephants sees us as we see little pets. That’s like the cutest thing EVER,” wrote one person.

“Most animals are gentle when they realize there’s a baby on board,” someone else added.

“Elephants are so gentle, she’s just saying hi to baby,” praised another person.

“I have a feeling that baby is going to grow up loving elephants,” one commenter suggested.

How Many Babies Can Elephants Have?

This really makes me wonder about elephant pregnancies. How many babies can they have?

Typically elephants will have one baby at a time. Twins is more of a rarity. There’s no definitive answer of how many babies an elephant can have. Some can have over eight babies during their lifetime! All we know is that elephants have the cutest babies! They truly are so precious.
