Cat Who Gets Caught in Cabinets While ‘Making a Grilled Cheese’ Has Us Dying With Laughter

The sneaky kitty in the following TikTok video is having the last laugh. He must have decided he wanted a sandwich and climbed into the cupboard for his bread, but then he couldn’t get back out.

The on-screen text sets the scene, “Imagine walking into your kitchen and seeing this.” Throughout the clip, we never actually get to see the cat superstar aside from his paw and tail. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Needless to say, commenters loved this feline’s antics with one, @Dee, stating, “This needs mission impossible music.” @mary170909 spoke truth with, “I’m animal lover. Cats are lot smarter and funnier than people give credit for.” We get reminded of this daily. Others like @Linda speculated on what this kitty may have been making, “It would’ve been amazing if the next thing out of the cupboard was a jar of peanut butter!” Wait, but what about the jelly?

Finally, @shatteredpieces9 won the day positing, “He’s making a grilled cheese.” We certainly hope the little guy got a special treat after putting in all this effort for his sandwich.

How to keep cats out of cabinets?

Well, first we need to understand why cats sneak into cabinets, and the answer is simple: They love small, dark spaces. As always, the reasons for this go back to their ancient ancestors who had to both hunt and hide. Nooks and crannies would have provided some safety from predators or a good spot to wait for unsuspecting mice.

Today, your beastie probably doesn’t do her own hunting (at least not for every meal). But the desire to “hunt” in the dark cabinet still lulls her in (or possibly the smell of bread). To prevent this, you have a few options. Of course, childproofing usually works on cats, too, and represents an inexpensive way to keep kitties out.

You can also look into providing good safe spaces for the mouser, like her own box or tunnel, which might help dispel the allure of the cabinets. If she still breaks in there’s only one solution: Whip out the camera and start filming.
