French Bulldog’s Rare Gene Mutation Makes Him Extra Fluffy and Extra Cute

Frenchies are already adorable, but there’s one pup who is making waves on social media. He looks like a French Bulldog, because he is, but there’s a slight difference he has that most other pups of his breed don’t. And it’s all tied to his genetics.

He has a rare genetic mutation, and the result is a cloud of cuteness that’s melting hearts, thanks to his one-of-a-kind appearance. Take a look!

On November 10, TikTok user @ccpalrescue, a dog rescue organization in Central Texas, shared a video and introduced us to a beautiful dog named JoeJo.

JoeJo isn’t like your typical pup because he’s got a rare genetic mutation that makes him extra special. According to a video shared on social media, JoeJo is a 2-year-old French Bulldog, known as a “Fluffy Frenchie.”

“This is our Frenchie, JoeJo,” they share on the video. “He is a Fluffy Frenchie; they are very expensive and rare.” The woman speaking on the video shares that JoeJo is really soft, thanks to the genetic mutation that makes his coat extra fluffy, which isn’t typical for this dog breed.

What Is a ‘Fluffy French Bulldog’?

JoeJo is adorable and really sweet, which we can clearly see in the video. But what makes him special is his rare mutation that makes him fluffy. But what is a “Fluffy French Bulldog?”

According to DogTime, a Fluffy Frenchie looks and acts like a typical French Bulldog, but has a medium-sized, fluffy, soft coat, as the name suggests. And like the rescue center said in the video, this mutation is very rare, which makes him a very special find, and expensive if you’re looking to adopt one.

But when it comes to their temperament, these Fluffy Frenchies are just like your typical French Bulldog. They’re easygoing and very affectionate, but they can be prone to some separation anxiety and form strong attachments to their favorite people.

We hope that JoeJo finds his forever home with a family who finds him just as adorable and charming as we do!
