Stay away from Baby Marshmallow (if you want to stay scent-free that is). This adorable skunk who lives at the Cincinnati Zoo has no time for his toy in this amazing clip. Unfortunately for him, the gadget doesn’t seem to respond to his usual tricks. When the smelly dude lifts his tail, Mr. Crabby, the toy, just zooms on by.
As the caption explains, “Baby Marshmallow meets Mr Crabby and shows off how he warns predators not to mess with him, but then Mr Crabby ‘fights’ back! Marshmallow helps educate guests on the importance of native wildlife, not harming them but also leaving them wild.” We love little Marshmallow and his mission.
The reaction from the commenters was on point with many describing the inner workings of the little guy’s mind. “Marshmallow said ‘is friend? Nope!'” imagined @Angela West. Meanwhile @Alicia had a different take, “Fear me! Hey wait! I said fear me!” Viewer @chefjaason added, “Marshmallow: ‘I chase!’ …Mr Crab changes direction. Marshmallow: ‘Not today, Satan!” Lastly, the most important comment from @LINDA C. stated the truth, “Cuteness Overload!!!!! That’s Hilarious.”

The Ambassador Skunks at the Cincinnati Zoo
Marshmallow is a very special skunk working his job as an ambassador alongside many other creatures at the zoo to spread the word on conservation. He was born in July to a mom who was raised as part of the Ambassador Program at the zoo. Because of complications during birth, Marshmallow’s mom couldn’t fully care for him, and he was hand-raised by the team instead.
Being brought up by humans allows this sweet mammal to feel safe around people and in his home. Sarah Paese, Head Keeper of the Animal Ambassador Team at the Cincinnati Zoo said to A-Z Animals, ”We love seeing the smiles on all the faces of every person who meets him. Plus, he gets to experience novel stimuli, which sets him up for life as an ambassador skunk.'” Skunks can live up to 15 years in captivity, so we hope to see a lot more from Marshmallow.
