Only Golden Retrievers could accidentally trap their humans on a balcony and then immediately switch into “save me” mode. Content creator Alex Marie posted a clip that has everyone cracking up: She and her friends are sitting outside on their apartment balcony, locked out by three giant, goofy Goldens who pressed the wrong lever, and then scratched at the door like helpless victims of a situation they caused.
The video shows all four friends stuck outside while the dogs stare at them from inside with big, dramatic “please help us” eyes. One paw goes up. Then another. Then they start whining like they’re the ones trapped. The best part? Alex Marie said they had to wait two full hours for someone to rescue them. All because their lovable Retrievers accidentally hit the door lock and then played the victim.
The hysterical clip was shared by @alexxmariefit via TikTok, and the comments do NOT disappoint. One person said, “Them asking you for help is so funny.” Someone else added, “Acting like it’s not THIER fault.”

The official Paw Patrol account got in on the fun and said, “They must have lost our number.” Someone else helpfully suggested, “Next time, prop something under the front of the sliding door and wiggle the door up and down while someone pulls back (I work in apartments, I’m not a criminal).” LOL, I love the clarification that they are not a criminal.
Alex and her friends were just… stuck. Outside. On a balcony. For two hours. With nothing to do but record the moment, play Pictionary, and wait for rescue while the dogs inside flop around like the sky is falling. It feels like peak Golden Retriever energy: cause a problem, then become emotionally overwhelmed by the problem you caused.
Golden Retrievers aren’t known for their lock-picking abilities, but they are known for accidentally solving problems no one asked them to solve. They’re sweet, loyal, goofy, and giant toddlers in fur coats. And the commitment these three had to the “we’re the real victims here” bit is honestly award-worthy.
