Golden Retriever Puppy Escaping From His Cage Is Cracking Everybody Up

Having a new puppy in the house means quickly learning that there are plenty of things for them to get into—whether you want them to or not. Many people use dog crates to keep their pups contained when they’re busy or out of the house, while others set up cages or baby-style playpens to keep them safe.

But Teddy Graham, a Golden Retriever puppy, was not happy about being confined. His mom spent $50 on a Facebook Marketplace find that she thought would be perfect for him. Turns out not only was she wrong, but she was also out fifty bucks!

We laughed when Teddy said in the video’s caption, “Mom thought she was smart…” All pet pawrents have been there before! Commenter @Casey shared, “I got the tall one for my golden retriever puppy, and he climbs that one too, so don’t feel bad. I had to put fabric on the inside, so he can’t climb it lol!”

Funny Reactions to the Escape Artist Puppy

Viewers left hundreds of comments about Teddy’s escape artist skills, and some of them cracked us up. @Luv my family pointed out, “So proud of himself as he struts away.” Teddy’s mom replied, “The look on his face LOL!” @sm333.0 added, “Upside, you know he is super smart, maybe plan a bank robbery!”

@Goose and Katie made us smile when they said what Teddy was thinking, “That was close, Mom, I was almost trapped!” @majorl21 added, “‘Wow! Neat playpen! Who’s it for?’ LOL!”

Commenter @zimzike joked, “Mission NOT impossible haha!” @Christina Shields sighed and said, “They all break out of puppy jail eventually.” @ReeRee laughed, “Mine used to do this, too. Organic cage-free dog LOL!”

@Michael pointed out, “Even if it were a foot taller, the dog would still be able to climb it or jump it in 2-3 months.”

Viewer @traveling_shoop warned, “Be careful with his collar so he doesn’t get stuck.” Most experts warn against keeping your dog’s collar on when they’re in their crate or cage. Ruffwear, which makes collars, harnesses, and more for dogs, shares, “When a dog is in a crate or kennel, their collar or ID tags can get hooked on the crate. If unable to unhook themselves, it could lead to injury or death. The best way to avoid this is to remove collars before crating your dog or if leaving them unattended.”

It’s always better to be safe than sorry!
