Cat Hanging From the Christmas Tree Like an Ornament Is LOL Funny

It’s cozy season folks! That means staying inside where it’s warm and hanging by your Christmas tree. Unfortunately, not every Christmas tree is full of peaceful vibes. One tree is the definition of chaos and it’s all because of the family cat Donut. The kitty took it upon himself to stir up trouble. In fact, the cat pretty much looked like an ornament himself!

This is the exact reason why cats and Christmas trees just don’t mix. In the clip shared by Donut’s humans, it shows the cat hanging from the top of the tree that was affixed to the ceiling. How in the world did he get up there?!

It’s truly so confusing. The video doesn’t show Donut climbing up the tree, but somehow he got himself not only up the tree but to the top. Somehow, the top of the tree came free from the bottom, which is when things really got crazy. The cat clung to the topper while his legs dangled below.

“Oh his legs are off!” a man can be heard saying from behind the camera. “Look at him swing! Look at him go!” he exclaimed. And with good reason. The cat really was swinging! But don’t worry, Mom and Dad were there to make sure he didn’t get hurt.

Commenters were absolutely rolling over Donut’s stunt.

“‘Cat: release grip.’ Bro is talking to it like it’s Alexa,” joked one person in the comments section.

“In the words of Miley Cyrus ‘I came in like a wrecking ball,’’ someone else teased.

“He’d make a perfect angel if you’d just allow it,” a third person pointed out.

“Cat: ‘This is the best Christmas present EVER!!’” someone else quipped.

Keep Your Cat off Your Christmas Tree

Unfortunately this is a problem that’s all too common. So how do you keep your cat away from your Christmas tree anyway?

First, you might want to anchor your tree so that it doesn’t tip over. You can also place your tree in a spot that your cat typically avoids. Baby gates can also be helpful and choosing the right ornaments is important too. Never use tinsel or long ribbons and don’t use fake snow either. If you’re really struggling, get your kitty a cat tree! That might keep their focus and keep your Christmas tree safe.
