Bringing home a new puppy is an experience that no one will ever forget. From mundane moments like taking potty breaks to special milestones like a puppy’s first bath, every moment with a new furry friend is as heartwarming as the last. Sometimes, however, puppies can be just as impressive as they are adorable!
Sammy the Yellow Labrador Retriever pup has been loving growing up in his forever home with Lauren (AKA @swick.jo) and her family. He has playfulness and energy to spare, especially when Dad winds him up with a toy! On November 30, he left everyone laughing out loud with his sky-high pounce, and half a million views later, everyone is asking for more!
Sammy got some serious air on that jump! There’s no question that this little Labrador is an athlete in the making. He got so excited after sticking the landing and grabbing the toy from Dad, though no one was as thrilled as the proud parents themselves.
“Absolutely love when the empty nesters get a dog, and it’s like they have a firstborn all over again,” @bridgitmary6 commented. I know exactly what you mean! My parents have always adored my rescue dog just as much as I do, but their bond grew tenfold once I left for college.

Even though Lauren and her husband still have one son at home, she wasn’t afraid to admit that Sammy is their baby. They cheer for Sammy regardless of what he’s doing or where he’s going, though his jumps get the biggest reaction out of them all.

Energetic and playful behavior is to be expected from puppies like Sammy, regardless of their breed, but most Labrador Retriever puppies will be especially hyper. These dogs require lots of physical and mental stimulation to feel fulfilled in life, though puppies may be content to sniff around, explore, and even destroy things as they learn about the world.
Because Labs grow up to be large dogs, they can also be particularly clumsy as puppies. If you’ve ever seen a young dog’s massive paws, you’ll understand why! These adorable dogs are entertaining all around, whether they’re pouncing on a toy or napping in a silly position.
