Stray Cat ‘Stealing Food for Her Kittens’ Is the Sweetest Mama

A mother will do whatever is necessary to make sure her babies have whatever they need. That’s a truth that transcends species: every mother feels that way, whether they’re human or not. Without them, so many little ones could never survive!

Some have it easier than others, which is another universal truth. Take cats for example: some cats give birth in sweet homes, with warm beds and human parents to help look after them. The kittens do not know hardship for even one second.

However, that’s just not always the case. Many kittens are born on the streets, with no real homes of their own. So many of them do still have one thing, though: their mamas. They receive love and care all the same, even if she has to get a little crafty:

This video from @luciferlovesmexx is so sweet, because at first, everyone was laughing. It looked like she was just straight up stealing that can of food! Of course, it was for her, so there were no hard feelings. Taking the whole thing to go is just a little silly!

In the comments, though, she updated everyone to let us know that she followed the cat for a little while after this, and she definitely has little ones nearby. She just wanted to make sure her babies could eat, too! I’m going to start crying!

Luckily, this mama cat found the right person. She has cats of her own, which is why she’s always willing to help out a kitty in need. Her cat is super handsome, too:

Will he be getting a sibling soon? Only time will tell. Maybe he’ll become a stepdad!

Feeding Cats With Kittens

If you find a stray cat and she has kittens, it’s going to be natural that you want to feed them. However, you have to be careful: you don’t know exactly how old the kittens are or if they can actually eat at all.

When you find kittens, try to avoid offering them wet food or kibble at first. Ideally, you should bring them into your local shelter so they can be cared for. However, if you can’t:

  1. Try to see if their mom is breastfeeding. If she is, offer her a balanced diet to increase milk supply.

  2. If she’s not, offer the kittens specially formulated kitten food. You can make a slurry with formula, too, if they look too young.

Hopefully, this mama cat and her kittens will be okay. At least now she knows where to go for a meal!
