Happy Parrot Can’t Stop Saying ‘I Love You’ When Mom Returns Home After 6 Days

As adult life deems necessary, we’re sometimes tasked with leaving home, whether for work or play, and our pets can’t always tag along. Leaving them behind can be heartbreaking because they can’t understand we’re coming back.

For Gamora the Parrot, Mom’s 6 days away must’ve felt like an eternity. That’s why, upon her return, the sweet bird couldn’t stop saying, “I love you.” If you know a kind of love like this—where it’s so good it hurts—this is the video for you.

Even if you’ve never been around a vocal bird like Gamora, the 9-second video is everything you need to know about Conure Parrots. Listen to her precious little voice as she declares her love for Mom.

With the caption that says, “I think she’s happy I’m home,” I’m not sure if I should smile or sob. Gamora’s one affectionate girl in general, but this plays out like she truly believed she wouldn’t see her mom again, and that hits hard.

Some of the gentle soul’s fans experienced the same feelings I did, and they just had to share.

“I WOULD NEVER LEAVE THAT BABY AGAIN,” one person wrote. “Somebody really missed their mama,” another added. “That ‘Hello’ w/cute squeak at the end is breaking my heart open. You can’t ever leave again!” another person shared.

Gamora Struggles With Separation Anxiety

According to Lafeber, Conures like Gamora are cuddly, playful, and curious companions who need plenty of toys and enrichment to thrive. Described as wanting to be “where the household activity is,” this Parrot breed is happiest when with their people as much as possible.

While they’re outgoing and full of personality, they’re also prone to separation anxiety, like Gamora. Thankfully, she’s being treated for it, as seen in a previous clip.

It really is hard when our pets miss us and feel like we’re gone forever (even if we’re just going out for an hour), but the happy reunion is always the best part. It’s a fact that no one is happier to see you than they are, and all of Gamora’s “I love yous” prove it!
