Life on a farm comes with a few surprises, every now and then, especially when you toss together a bunch of different animals with wildly different personalities. Like any homestead, there’s bound to be some rivalries going strong.
Ranger, the Great Pyrenees, takes great pride as the official guardian of his farm, but it seems that Mini Donkey Lolo hasn’t gotten the memo that the pup is in charge. In what I’m deeming “Frenemies of the Year,” this hilarious duo is just too perfect together—spite and all!

I’ll always be a fan of these kinds of pet relationships because they’re unaware of how funny they are. I’m sure Ranger would love nothing more than to give Lolo the smackdown—it’s clear by his face—but you be the judge on who’s really in charge ’round these parts.
Watch these two go at it in a silent standoff for the ages!
As you can see, these two have a complicated relationship! As with all sibling rivalries, their “bond” is built on layers of history, which I’m sure is equally as entertaining. In the comments, Mom wrote, “They have a love-hate relationship. Ranger so badly wants LoLo to like him,” which explains so much!
Being a Great Pyrenees means technically Ranger’s in charge, but being a Mini Donkey, Lolo thinks she is. A tale as old as time, the polar opposites share more in common than they realize, and I suspect it all comes down to who’s the biggest boss.
Either way, they’re both cute as can be, making faces at each other!
Lolo Is a Real Character
In a funny turn of events, Mom offered more insight into this rivalry, adding:
“Our Mini Donkeys rule the pasture. They chase out anything that comes into the pasture…dogs, goats, cats. They share a pasture with our Big-Horned Highland Cattle, and the donkeys even boss the Highlands around.”
You can see as much in a previous clip!
Maybe Ranger and Lolo will never be the best of friends, but at least their contentious standoffs are pure comedy for the rest of us!
