Husky ‘Protects Mom’s Baby Bump’ Like It’s His Full Time Job

Pregnancy is terrifying for a multitude of reasons. There’s literally a tiny human inside of you that you are responsible for making sure grows as well as they possibly can, and then you continue to be responsible for them forever and ever. Something a lot of people don’t consider is that they’ll also need to keep up with their dog!

One dog mom hit the absolute jackpot with her Husky. She hadn’t had her baby yet, but if the way her sweet boy was acting while she’s pregnant was any indication, he’s going to worship the ground that the baby walks on… And he does:

Janelle Golz is going to have a hard time getting Icy to let dad help with his own baby! The hand he’s guarding his mama’s belly from literally belongs to the child’s father, but Icy won’t hear it. As far as he’s concerned, nobody is going anywhere near the baby but him!

Lucky for us, that video was a two-parter: you can catch the next clip of Icy doing exactly this with the actual baby. He likes to stand in front of the swing and make sure everyone knows that the baby is his to guard, and he’s going to do a good job!

Icy being so kind to his baby is such a treat, and a relief for his mom!

Icy is just kind of a jealous boy in general, especially when it comes to his dad. He doesn’t even like to let him cuddle mom when she’s not pregnant, so obviously he doesn’t want him touching the baby either!

I hope he keeps this guardian energy when the baby grows up. Luckily, Icy will be able to train his little brother to feed him treats!

Huskies Make Great Companions For Kids

While there are exceptions to every rule, Huskies are often a very good addition to families with children because they’re:

Make no mistake: Huskies are a hassle and require tons of time and attention. If you can handle it, though, they’re totally worth it!
