Newfoundland’s Super Special Blue Christmas Tree Would Even Make Elvis Proud

Chewy, a stunning Newfoundland dog, is having a blue Christmas. The loving pup is a regular on our social media feed, often going viral for his tender videos with his human grandma. Christmas came early for Chewy’s fans and followers this year when the dog’s humans shared a video of the pup enjoying his very special blue Christmas tree.

In the video, complete with a cameo from Grandma, the Newfoundland can be seen stoically perched in front of a small blue Christmas tree specially placed for him. “He loves it so much,” his humans caption the video, and love it he does. Chewy is clearly enamored with the blue tree. The pup barely blinks and is certainly not moving from his prime real estate right in front of the tree.

In Chewy’s defense, his blue Christmas tree is so stunning it might even impress Elvis.

“Oh this is precious,” commented one viewer. Another added, “So cute,” while another shared, “Precious.”

While other commenters shared their dogs’ love of Christmas, one commenter raised a good point, writing, “I mean he can see it. It’s one of the colors dogs can see.”

What Colors Can Newfoundlands See?

Grandma may see life through rose-colored lenses, but for Newfoundlands like Chewy, pups can see shades of blue, gray, and yellow. This means Chewy may be enchanted by his uniquely colored Christmas tree for more than just his love of the holiday.

Since reds and greens appear brownish to Newfoundlands, Christmas may have a dull tint for the breed unless one is lucky enough to have a grandma like Chewy’s who purchases him his own stunning blue Christmas tree.

So if you want to get your Newfoundland in the Christmas spirit, a blue, yellow, or gray tree is in order.
