It doesn’t get much cuter than baby animals, but raising babies of any species can be chaotic, to say the least. Even though little ones spend lots of time sleeping, they also spend plenty of time exploring the world around them and getting into trouble. This can be overwhelming to keep up with, but it’s also a green flag for raising happy, healthy babies!
The cat mom behind @pawspedalsprogress has her hands full with her foster cat’s five new kittens, but it’s clear from the way she talks about them that she wouldn’t trade their chaos and messes for the world. In fact, she celebrated with her viewers when the tiny kittens began learning to climb to ‘freedom’ (AKA the living room). This may be the beginning of a lot more kitten shenanigans, but it’s also a wonderful milestone.
Look at these kittens go! I love the determination of the baby tuxedo cat, but in the end, it was their tortoiseshell sister who broke out of the nursery first. With her strength, her confidence, and her resourcefulness to use the crate as a ladder, nothing could get in this kitten’s way.
“When the tortie stomped toward the gate, I knew she had it,” @oh_toska commented. “What a good mover!” After all, the term ‘tortitude’ was developed for a reason, and that reason looked and acted a lot like this rambunctious kitten.

Even though the tortoiseshell kitten was the first to step a paw into a whole new world, the black and white baby who tried so hard stole everyone’s hearts. Her tiny, silent meow was the epitome of sweetness, and her bravery was worthy of applause!
Now that one kitten had climbed the makeshift wall, their foster mama removed the wall entirely. They’re at an age when they can explore a larger space without getting lost or hurt, but their mom doesn’t think this is great news. She won’t have a moment of peace until they’re all adopted!
When Can Kittens Be Adopted?
After seeing how adorable these foster kittens are, it’s easy to see why so many viewers asked about their adoption status. The cat mom confirmed that the babies would eventually be up for adoption, but she doesn’t know exactly when.
Typically, kittens can be adopted at 8 weeks old at the earliest, but waiting until 12 weeks is beneficial for both mom and babies. These foster kittens are developing well and reaching milestones daily, but only time will tell when they’re ready to find homes of their own.
