Golden Retriever Puts on the Saddest Performance Every Night at Dinner

Wally, the Golden Retriever, has a plan each night to get food from the family during dinner, and he knows a surefire way to get it done.

No one in the family wants to see Wally sad. He’s a big, beautiful, exuberant Golden Retriever who’s always swishing his huge tail excitedly, doing the full-body wag, and has the happy, goofy face with the tongue lolling out of the side, so when he’s sad? Everyone’s heart immediately breaks, and they rush to him to see exactly what’s wrong.

Wally’s devious plan? Every night there is “dinner and a show” as Wally performs in his one-dog play: “Oh, WOE IS ME! I’M SO SAD, I LITERALLY CANNOT EVEN LIFT MY HEAD. The only thing that may help me cheer up is food.”

It’s an utterly heart-wrenching performance, and everyone, mostly family, who has witnessed his performance, immediately hands over whatever they have on their plate. Wally’s parents’ rating? A 10/10 (in the food scoring department). It works literally *every* time. Bravo, Wally! Behold, the performance of a lifetime!

Now that Wally’s portrayal has been posted on TikTok to see, the heartstrings of around 6.9 million people are being yoinked. “SOMEONE better have given him something,” demanded one viewer, while another threatened, “I’m calling the police if you don’t give him all your food.”

Other viewers were so knocked out, they couldn’t distinguish Wally from his character anymore. “Ever think he’s not pretending?” asked one. “I don’t think he’s pretending,” cried another. Another viewer made an excellent point, “Maybe that’s actually the saddest thing to him.”

Only a few noticed when he briefly broke character, “Not him checking to see if you’re watching.” Another eagle-eyed viewer wasn’t too swept away to notice. “He’s glancing around at his audience to see if his performance is working.”

Oh, Wally. You have 7 million people sitting around debating your state of mind, and you don’t even know it, LOL. When was that last time *any* performance — person or dog –moved that many people? A star is born, everyone: Wally the Golden Retriever. Pay attention, and remember that name!
