Dogs always want to be part of the action. Whether it is a holiday, a party, or a wedding, they have a way of understanding the joy in our celebrations and somehow make every moment sweeter just by being there.
For Golden RetrieversGamja and Chip, that excitement showed from the very beginning as they learned how to become ring bearers for their aunt’s wedding. With their mom and dad patiently working with them, the two pups carried their baskets, practiced walking at just the right pace, and did it all with bright eyes, wagging tails, and the biggest smiles. You can tell they knew this was special.
Watch these two bridal party superstars absolutely nail their training in the adorable TikTok from @gamjamypotato shared on December 23:
Once they had mastered everything inside, they headed outdoors with beautifully decorated baskets and trotted down the sidewalk with perfect form. By the time their final rehearsal rolled around, they were complete professionals who looked more than ready for their big moment.

Unfortunately, there was one last-minute change no one expected. The venue updated its policy, and Gamja and Chip were no longer allowed to carry the rings down the aisle. Even so, they proudly wore their wedding attire, carried their baskets for photos, and looked beyond adorable as they posed with the stunning bride and groom. And of course, they were rewarded with plenty of attention, love, and well-earned belly rubs. For dogs like this, being included is everything.
Fans definitely had opinions. One viewer wrote, “I would be demanding a full refund from the venue if they did that to me,” while another pointed out, “but they PRACTICED.”
Thankfully, @gamjamypotato kept the sweetest perspective, saying, “I wish it went the way we planned, but not everything happens the way we want, right? We all still had so much fun during the process.” And one final commenter summed it up perfectly: “They’re perfect.”

Golden Retrievers Often Excel in Ceremony Roles
Golden Retrievers are known for being gentle, eager to please, and incredibly people-focused, which is why they often do so well in structured roles. According to the American Kennel Club, Goldens are highly trainable, famously friendly, and thrive when they are included in meaningful moments.
That mix of intelligence, reliability, and affectionate temperament is what makes pups like Gamja and Chip so well suited for something as a ring bearer, and it is easy to see how beautifully they handled it.
Even though things didn’t go as planned, these Golden siblings still brought plenty of joy to the day. Their sweet spirits and dedication are a perfect example of how our dogs make every moment extra special by just being themselves.
