Do you know what’s infinitely worse than a sad dog? Well, the answer is: a sad dog during Christmas who is watching everyone else open presents and is convinced they aren’t getting a present.
The 5.9 million people who have watched this video agree with me and, beware, it’s a Christmas heartbreaker.
This gorgeousChocolate Labradoris watching everyone else open their Christmas presents, and the look on her face says everything. She’s convinced she’s getting nothing, and it’s an awful thing to behold. Someone finally breaks the tension by presenting her with an adorable little brown teddy bear, and we get an immediate tail wag as she takes it in her mouth, and everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief. It’s a Christmas miracle. Take a look!
Oooo, the comments. People are relieved, but still not happy, LOL. “Girl, you better wrap it up next year! That baby deserves to OPEN a gift,” remarked one. Another said, “Every present next year better be for her or there will be problems.”
The demands don’t stop there. “Nope, now we need to do Christmas again tomorrow,” demanded one viewer, while another had the fantastic idea to “Take her to Build-a-Bear to make up for what you all did.” Well, they *could* make a whole new video series with her taking a field trip!
How Dogs Use Their Facial Expressions To Manipula… Errr, Communicate

A 2017 study at the University of Portsmouth determined that domestic dogs will move their faces in response to your attention. That’s right: if your dog knows you’re looking at them, they’re reacting much more expressively.
The most commonly used facial expression by dogs? The brow raise, also called “puppy dog eyes”, makes our pups look kind of sad and forlorn and in need and we, as humans, find it utterly irresistible. It makes us hand over teddy bears, treats, pup cups, car rides, trips to parks — whatever we think they want.

Genius! I don’t think any of us mind, and will happily admit to being manipulated by our furry overlords, LOL.
So who knows. Did this beautiful girl just play her family like a fiddle? Was it genuine heartbreak? In the end, as long as we don’t have to see that sad look anymore, I don’t think anyone really cares.
