Trying to get multiple dogs to cooperate for a single photo sounds like no big deal in theory, but a herculean task when you’re in the thick of it. At first, you think it’s just a simple line-up, snap, and you’re done. It works in theory for sure. But add a Golden Retriever to the mix, and patience becomes a very short-lived concept.
That’s what is happening in this video, where that exact scenario completely unravels. While the dog parent does his best to line everyone up, one Golden Retriever confidently rewrites the plan, turning the photo shoot into pure chaos. And it’s so hilarious—take a look!
On December 25, 2025, TikTok user @imbluethesiberiann shared a video of the family’s four dogs and one of their parents, setting up to take a cute family photo. The four dogs, two Huskies and two Golden Retrievers, are dressed for the occasion in red-and-white shirts, and their dad is helping them all get in the correct position for that perfect shot.
But, anyone with a doggy or four in their family knows that getting them all to do exactly what you need them to do at the exact moment is a challenge. Anyone with kids in the family can understand, too. While they may not have gotten the most perfect picture, it’s genuine and honest, which is often way better to look back on.
And the Goldens, of course, rushed to throw themselves into the pool instead of waiting for the photos to be taken, which is a hard stop to that perfect photo, but a hilarious memory to keep forever.

Someone else added, “I love this little guy; he always makes my day.”

You might consider a cover for that pool.”

Golden Retriever Dogs Really Love the Water
If you’ve seen other videos from the Moriarty Family, you’ll see that their Golden Retriever named Bauer loves the water, and in this clip, he ran to the pool and jumped in really quickly. And it turns out that’s common in Golden Retrievers.
According to Wag! Golden Retrievers are born with a love of water because, historically, they’ve had the job of retrieving ducks, which often meant getting into the water. They’re so perfect for this role, and their coats are designed for swimming.
Golden Retrievers have a water-repellent, dense outer coat with an undercoat that insulates them against cold temperatures. These dogs seem drawn to water, which can be a struggle for pet parents if they have a Golden who immediately wants to jump in when they see it. Even when they’re supposed to stay dry, stay still, and get their photo taken.
We’re convinced this family is the funniest and most awesome of all time, and the family might want to consider taking their holiday photos in the pool next year.
