Golden Retriever’s Sassy Paw for Attention Is Too Cute for Words

It doesn’t matter what breed your dog is, because at some point, they’re going to hit a rebellious streak, whether you like it or not! Even the sweetest puppies enter the teenage phase that tests our patience to the max. It helps they’re way too adorable to ever feel too annoyed, but still…

For example, Ranger, the Golden Retriever, has just reached this exciting new stage of life where he paws at Dad whenever the mood strikes. It’s equal parts sass and cuteness overload all in one!

It’s bound to happen sometime, and Ranger makes no apologies, giving Dad a lil’ tap to remind him who’s boss! This spicy boy has opinions about things, and he’s making it everyone’s problem!

I love it when a video so short gets right to the point, and this one did exactly that. It’s no coincidence that the Golden Retriever is still a young buck at the ripe old age of 1, because that’s when a lot of pups start to morph into those dreaded/funny teenage years!

People in the comments got right to work calling this pup iconic, adorable, and even a diva (!!!), but I can tell you right now that Ranger is more than those things—he’s actually pretty chill… with a hefty side of Velcro dog (like most Goldens)!

Ranger’s Sass Is Normal for His Age

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for Ranger’s dad, but according to Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue, it usually lasts through 18 to 24 months. Though, he could be in his adolescent stage up to 4 to 5 years of age!

It typically starts between 6 and 12 months when they get the big hormonal shift and tend to want more independence while they test boundaries. Sounds like human kids, TBH! While these times can test a pet parent’s patience, they eventually end.

Until then, Ranger and all others like him are calling the shots!
