Dog Gets the Wrong Toy to Bed & Then Course-Corrects

Bedtime routine is sacrosanct in this household, and Soda has it down to a science. Living in North Toronto, this fluffy member of the #bentpawgang usually knows exactly what he needs for a solid night of sleep. In a hilarious video shared by @sodabearsamoyed, we see the sweet dog heading upstairs with a black-and-white plushie tucked firmly in his mouth. The Samoyed seems totally prepared for rest until he actually reaches his destination. It turns out, even a pro can grab the wrong toy when they’re in a pre-slumber haze.

Samoyed fixes own error in adorable video

As Soda reaches the landing, his dad greets him warmly. The sound of his paws clicking against the wooden floors is actually the sweetest. He walks right into the dimmed bedroom, heading straight for his own corner. However, the moment he spots his bed, he pauses. It is like a lightbulb goes off in his head. He suddenly realizes he made a massive mistake with his choice of sleep accessories. Without making a sound, he pulls a gentle “uno reverse” and heads right back toward the stairs.

Dad can’t help but laugh softly while asking what went wrong. Soda doesn’t stop to explain; he just trots back down to the first floor. He isn’t panicking about the mix-up. Instead, he just accepts that a long walk is necessary to fix his error. One viewer mentioned they loved his sedate, steady pace during the entire journey.

The video eventually cuts to Soda returning with a light pink-colored octopus toy clenched in his mouth. It seems this specific plushie was the only thing that could guarantee a good night’s rest. His owner joked in the caption, “Don’t you hate it when you bring up the wrong bedtime toy so you have to go all the way back downstairs to get the right one.”

Over eleven thousand people liked the clip, mostly because of how unbothered he seems. Soda proves that even when life requires a second trip, you might as well do it with style. Now that his inventory is finally correct, he can settle in for a peaceful night.
