Rare Beauceron Puppy Is Only 9 Months Old and Already Bigger Than His Pet Parent

At first, your brain refuses to cooperate.

Goose, a 9-month-old Beauceron puppy, is being held in his dog mom’s arms like a baby. Not metaphorically. Fully cradled. Legs dangling. Head resting comfortably. Except that Goose weighs about 70 pounds and is already bigger than the person holding him.

That is when the video gets even better.

This precious TikTok clip from @beaucie.goose shows that even Goose’s mom seems shocked at how big her baby is! As Goose is being rocked like an oversized infant, a tiny Dachshund suddenly jumps up and tries to grab him, clearly offended that this enormous puppy is getting baby privileges. The size difference is unreal. One dog looks like he should be teething. The other looks like he should be borrowing your coat.

Goose, for his part, seems perfectly chill. He is calm, relaxed, and clearly believes this is exactly where he belongs. In his mom’s arms. Being held. Like a little guy. The fact that he is already massive does not seem to register with him at all.

People watching immediately lost it. The comments were full of disbelief about his size, jokes about how strong his mom must be, and lots of “that is still a baby” energy. Which, honestly, is correct. Goose is only 9 months old and still very much a puppy, even if his body missed the memo. One person asked, “LOL, how much longer are you going to be able to do this? Especially with the wiggles and bark?” Another person asked, “OMG, so big at 9 months??? And when is he fully grown?”

Perfect question, so let’s get into it!

How Big Do Beauceron Dogs Get?

Beaucerons are a large working breed originally developed in France. Adult males can weigh anywhere from 70 to over 100 pounds, and are known for their height, strength, and athletic build.

They also mature slowly, which means puppies can look fully grown long before they are actually done growing. At 9 months old, this Beauceron still has time to fill out and develop more muscle, which makes his current size even more impressive.

Despite their intimidating appearance, Beaucerons are often described as loyal, intelligent, and deeply bonded to their people. They are working dogs at heart, but many are also big softies at home.

Watching this puppy next to his pet parent feels like a glimpse into the future. He is already massive, already confident, and somehow still very much a baby.
