Winter is here with a vengeance and covering certain areas of the country with brutal cold. Freezing temps, snow and ice are all in the mix as everyone layers up to keep heating costs down. Even our fur babies are finding it extra chilly and need double snuggle time.
Corn the 10-month-old black cat saw that the new foster kittens in his home had a hard time adjusting to the Northeast Arctic-like conditions and took it upon himself to make sure they were well insulated.
In the TikTok from @whiskstowhiskers, Corn was in a cozy pop-up tent snuggling with several kittens. The fatherly feline realized the frigid temperatures were probably too much for the tiny kitties and wanted to give them as much warmth as possible.
“The temperature is below freezing in NYC and our apartment is also a little chilly, but don’t worry, Baby Corn is keeping his little friends warm,” the caption explained.
Though Corn is practically still a kitten, he fully stepped up and took on a paternal role with the younger foster kittens.
“They’re 2 months old now and Baby Corn is 10 months old. Although he is only a little bigger than they are, he’s a lot rounder so he’s quite warm,” the story concluded.
The compassionate cat kept the kitties company while providing some much-needed heat. Since it’s only January, Corn will probably be spending a lot of time snuggling with those tiny felines.
Followers Praised Corn’s Kindness
Viewers of the video were moved by Corn’s caring nature and had a little fun with his adorable name, with some branding him as “Pop Corn”.
“Baby Corn and his Corn Cob Cuties,” one wrote.
“That is the sweetest thing I have seen in a long time,” another remarked.
“Ok I’m seriously crying because Baby Corn has so much love to share and this is what we all need so much of now,” a follower shared.
“King Corn shares his secrets (and his warmth) with his kernel army,” someone commented.
“He’s not the step dad, he’s the dad who stepped up,” a fan noted.
These kittens are in wonderful hands — I mean, paws — with Corn in their corner.
