Golden Retriever Dad Getting Smothered With Puppy Kisses Is Cuteness Overload

If you have ever wondered what peak happiness looks like, it might be this exact moment. In the clip, a big Golden Retriever is planted in front of a cozy living room fireplace, surrounded by a pile of puppies on a soft floor blanket. Some of the puppies are black, some are golden, and all of them are climbing, licking, wobbling, and absolutely losing their minds over their dad.

The Golden Retriever crouches down to their level, hops up playfully, and gently mouths and licks them back, clearly loving every second of it. The puppies respond by swarming him like he’s the best thing that has ever happened to them. Which, honestly, he probably is.

The precious video was uploaded to TikTok by @lolo_mckenzie, and the comments were instantly locked in. One person said, “Typical dad getting the kids all riled up before bedtime.” Another added, “Fatherhood with no bills, no parent-teacher conferences, and no insurance costs looks pretty awesome,” and honestly, LOL.

Someone else added, “The first dog dad I’ve seen not run and hide from his babies,” while another laughed, “He’s technically a kid himself.” And that really is the energy here. This is not a tired dad escaping to the couch. This is a dad fully in the mix, rolling around on the floor, accepting kisses, and letting the puppies climb all over him.

In the comments, the dog mom also shared more context about the situation. She explained that the litter was accidental and involved her Dachshund-Catahoula mix. She made it clear that all the puppies already have homes and that the dogs are being spayed and neutered.

She shared that her dog was scheduled to be fixed before the pregnancy, but came into heat two months early while she was out of town. Previous surgery appointments had been delayed due to illness and a vet cancellation. They had plans in place, and sometimes life just happens faster than expected.

What really stands out in the video is how safe and joyful the puppies seem. The dad is gentle, engaged, and clearly comfortable being climbed on and kissed nonstop. It feels calm and crazy at the same time in the best possible way.

What Age Should You Spay or Neuter Your Dog?

You should always make this decision with help from your veterinarian, but most vets recommend spaying or neutering dogs between 6 and 12 months of age, though the ideal timing can vary based on breed size, health, and individual circumstances.

Larger breeds are sometimes advised to wait a bit longer to allow for proper growth, while smaller breeds may be ready earlier. The most important thing is working with a vet to decide what is best for each dog.
