Mabel the Highland Cow is just a baby, and therefore, she’s just figuring it all out. One way babies of all species do this is by engaging in frenetic random activity periods (FRAPs). Also, commonly referred to as the beloved zoomies.
Zoomies help babies figure out those new limbs of theirs, practice their coordination, and build muscle. They’re also just a great way to express their joy and excitement, and get rid of all of their extra energy.
Mabel had been running on concrete, which her parents noticed was really slippery for her, so what did they do? They built her an awesome indoor track where this little speed racer can get her ya ya’s out in the most effective way.
And zoom she does, tearing around her little track with utter happiness. Check out the part where she stops and turns around to go back and “moo” at the cat, who was apparently not authorized to be on the track. It’s hilarious.
I also love the sliding!
Mabel’s parents swung by the comments and mentioned that it’s entirely too cold for Mabel to be outside, with sub-zero temps and 22″ of snow, so she’ll be using her track until it warms up. How sweet that they went to all of this effort to keep her warm, and to give her great exercise options until this cold snap passes.
Viewers couldn’t get enough of Mabel’s antics. “I would sit out there forever watching her run circles.” replied one viewer. Another wrote, “Great. Now I need a baby cow!”
