Shih-Tzus are known as much for their adorable appearance as they are for their sweet dispositions (unless you’re a newcomer, and then sweet may go out the window). For Bruno, a clever, social media-savvy Shih-Tzu, his groomer had a blast styling up the gorgeous guy while also carrying him around in the palm of her hand. This is the kind of uplifting, watch-on-repeat sweet content we never tire of.
Bruno’s buddy Jess posted the video to TikTok, captioning it, “Bruno was the most precious boy with the most beautiful coat. Also, did I mention he fit into the palm of my hand?”
In the video, Jess can be seen escorting Bruno around her grooming facility on the palm of her hand before bathing the tiny pup, complete with the requisite shampoo mohawk dogs seem to enjoy just as much as kids.
What makes this video stand out isn’t just how cute the precious pup is—it’s how sweet groomer Jess is with the little guy. He’s right at home with her as she makes him feel safe and even pivots when Bruno cowers from his hair dryer’s blast.
Jess shares the finished results of Bruno’s day at the doggie spa. Needless to say, Bruno’s even cuter with his hair done than when he was getting his bath.
Nearly 200,000 people commented on or engaged with Jess’s post. Clearly, we’re not the only followers charmed by sweet Bruno’s bath time.
“I can’t,” shared one newfound fan of Bruno. Another added, “A literal angel.”
“Bruno is loving every minute of this,” commented another.
Shih-Tzus and Water
Bruno seems comfortable in Jess’s loving grip while he gets his bath, but most Shih-Tzus aren’t big fans of water. They are naturally swimming-averse due to their long fur, short legs, and brachycephalic (flat-faced) features, which cause them to tire easily.
Shih-Tzus can tolerate water for short periods of time, making grooming and jogs through the sprinkler not entirely miserable for the breed.
And while a Shih-Tzu’s tolerance for water varies from pup to pup, Bruno seems to be having a bit of fun with Jess. Once he takes a look in the mirror and sees his stunning new ’do, he’ll be begging for bath time all over again.
