Golden Retriever Walks Past His Favorite Store and His Heartbroken Reaction Says It All

You can tell a lot about a person by their favorite store. Some people can’t resist a Target run. Personally, I’m obsessed with Anthropologie. I go in for a candle and come out with a $48 mug and an identity crisis. And apparently, the same logic applies to dogs, because one Golden Retriever just went viral for the most heartbreaking reaction after walking past his favorite store and finding it closed.

In the video, the sweet Golden is walking down the street when he spots the pet supply store he clearly knows by heart. His tail starts wagging, he slows down, and you can practically see the excitement building… until he notices the “CLOSED” sign hanging on the door. His expression immediately shifts from pure joy to absolute devastation. He just stands there staring, like, How could they?” as his poor mom tries to drag him away.

The sweet TikTok video was shared on the account @miabx, with a lot of people feeling this Golden’s pain. One person wrote, “That’s cute! My dog does this when we pass the pub—less cute, as it makes me look like an alcoholic.” Another added, “They better open that shop right now.” Someone else chimed in, “How dare the store be closed! That poor baby just wanted to shop.”

One comment hit everyone right in the heart: “My dog pulled to go in my mum’s house after she had died whenever we walked past, as it was three doors down from mine. It broke my heart.”

Golden Retrievers are known for their emotional intelligence, and this clip is proof that they really do feel everything: joy, confusion, and yes, even disappointment. Honestly, same, buddy. I’ve had the same look on my face walking past a closed Starbucks.

With the holiday season approaching, you may be wondering where you can shop with your fur baby. While not every store has an “open-door” policy for dogs, plenty of major retailers love their four-legged customers. Many Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Tractor Supply Co. locations welcome leashed dogs inside. Petco and PetSmart, of course, are basically puppy wonderlands, but some Nordstrom and Bass Pro Shops stores are surprisingly dog-friendly too. Here’s a list of the 25 most dog-friendly stores in the U.S.
