While some animals can be a little aloof, others will stick by your side like glue. They’re velcro pets and the lengths that they go to to stay by your side are so funny. Just take a look at a mini donkey that is just a teeny bit clingy with his humans. The animal doesn’t want to leave them alone! Video of the donkey trying his best to run alongside the person is too funny. Yep, that’s his bestie alright.
The mini donkey’s mom, Amanda, had her camera on her to record her clingy donkey trying in vain to keep up with her. She had a shadow!
We should all be lucky to have a pet that is as committed to us as this sweet guy was. He was single-minded in his devotion to his mom, which means not leaving her alone.
He really reminds me of Donkey from the Shrek movies. Remember how friendly he was? He wouldn’t leave poor Shrek! Maybe there’s a reason why they made Donkey just a little needy.

Amanda was driving right next to the mini donkey when the animal pulled up next to her. He followed along no matter how far she went.
Other people could also see the Shrek-vibes.
“These videos are making me realize how great Shrek did a characterizing Donkey,” joked one person.
“If he’s not in the live action, I don’t want it,” someone else teased.
“That’ll do, Donkey. That’ll do,” another person added, quoting the movie.
“The side shuffle has me cackling,” one commenter added.
Donkeys Are Social Animals
It should be no surprise that donkeys don’t exactly like being alone. They aren’t solitary animals! Donkeys are incredibly social creatures. They need others around to be happy. It’s even possible for a donkey to get depressed if they’re all alone. So it’s very important to make sure your donkey always has a friend.
Of course, your company will always be appreciated. But if you’re planning on getting a donkey, make sure you get two!
