There is something about a dog waking up from a deep nap that feels wildly relatable. Especially when that dog looks like she just rolled out of a 2003 rock concert and forgot what planet she’s on.
Kira, a brown Longhaired Dachshund, was caught mid-wake-up, looking completely lost in the sauce on the sofa. Her ears were doing their own thing entirely. The fur was sticking up in every direction, like she had just survived a category 5 pillow storm. It is the definition of messy morning energy, and honestly, we support it.
The adorable clip from TikTok was shared by @kira.mini.oscar.m, and people in the comments felt very seen. One person asked, “Out late last night?” which is fair because Kira absolutely looks like she partied a little too hard. Another said, “We call that look the wild child.” Accurate. Someone else chimed in, “What? You’ve never had a bad hair day before?” and honestly, Kira is just brave enough to show hers to the world.

The best part is how calm she looks. No embarrassment. No concern. Just fully accepting her chaotic ear fluff like it’s a fashion choice.
If you have ever woken up, looked in the mirror, and thought, well, this is unfortunate, you and Kira are spiritual twinsies.
Do Dachshunds Need a Lot of Grooming?
Longhaired Dachshunds like Kira do need regular brushing to keep their fur from tangling, especially around the ears, where it tends to feather and fluff. A few brush sessions a week usually does the trick, and it also helps cut down on shedding. The good news is that most Dachshunds love the attention, even if they wake up looking like tiny rock stars afterward.
Now, I cannot say the same for our Pomeranian, Kingston. He acts like basic brushing is a personal betrayal and nail trims are a crime. We have fully surrendered and just take him in for professional trims because otherwise it turns into a dramatic one-act play titled “Why Are You Doing This To Me.” Some dogs are spa queens. Others are Kingston.
