They say that you don’t choose your pets; they choose you. That was certainly true in the case of one young couple traveling through Vietnam when they spotted a tiny baby monkey on the side of the road. This monkey promptly went over to them, hopped on their motorcycle, and started hugging this couple. Essentially, this little guy was demanding that they take him with them.
At one point, he even fell asleep on their laps when they took him for a little ride down the road. To say that this little darling is beyond precious is an understatement. At one point, they tried to let this little guy go, giving him a banana, which he took into the jungle with him, but when they started to drive off, he reemerged from the bushes and chased after them. Clearly, this little monkey has chosen these people to be his family.
Viewers on social media had a lot to say about this one. Some people were of the opinion that this couple should permanently stay in Vietnam so that they can look after this precious baby monkey: “You can’t leave him, but also you can’t really take him with you. So, your only real option at that point is to change your whole life and live there forever for his sake. I don’t make the rules, sorry, bro.”

While some social media users stated that they would permanently move there if this happened to them: “To be honest, I feel I am such a sucker if this happened to me, I would need to move there.” And some viewers felt that this baby monkey had chosen them, so they should not leave him: “The baby chose you, don’t leave him!”

According to this follow-up video, which you can watch by clicking the link here, this couple has checked in with various animal resource organizations in Vietnam, but has yet to receive any response from them about what to do with this baby monkey.
They did eventually leave this baby monkey in the spot where they found him, and later went back to this place to see how he was doing. But unfortunately, they were not able to find him there again.
Apparently, the spot where they found him is part of a protected nature reserve, making it one of the best and safest places for monkeys to live in Vietnam. They hope that this precious little baby monkey was able to find his way back to his family and is now living his best life with them.
